the (many) dailies : 11/9/11 – 11/12/11

Well…sometimes a week just swallows you whole! Here’s what’s been going down over the past few days:

daily word: These verses have been near and dear this week, Philippians 2:14-16:

“Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless.”

daily sweat: A little CrossFit here, a little running there, and a little bit of Arc Trainer just because I forgot how much I liked it!

daily dish: Piecing together random leftovers to make meals has been the name of the game this week. That, and these AMAZING cookies…which have been consumed enthusiastically since Thursday.

daily miles:

Day 65: like watching pavement-colored paint dry

Day 66: miscellany

Day 67: act justly, love mercy, walk humbly, eat chocolate

Day 68: the meat of the matter

(Somehow I managed to block Day 68 from my roadtrip memories…but now it’s back in all it’s gory glory.)

21 days: Surprisingly, fairly consistent! I’d say I’m 2.5/3 this week…with the .5 going to aforementioned baked goods and their enthusiastic consumption.

the dailies : 11.7.11

daily word: “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.” Philippians 1:9-11

daily sweat: CrossFit!

daily dish: I had breakfast for all. three. meals. today. Oatmeal to start the day, then scrambled eggs and toast for lunch, then a yogurt parfait for dinner. It was WONDERFUL.

daily miles:

Day 61: star crossed produce

Day 62: farm tour

Day 63: one last stop

21 days : 3/3!

the dailies : 11.2.11

daily word: “Happy Birthday, Annie!” When your favorite 3 year old turns 4, those are the only words that matter for the day.

daily sweat: A really great morning of CrossFit bootcamp. Eventually I want to write a post about my CrossFit experience so far, but in the meantime here’s a basic intro to CrossFit for those of you who’ve had no idea what I’ve been talking about for the past two weeks:

I really, really, really love it.

daily dish: This sandwich. It’s just so darn good.

daily mile:

Day 58: welcome to dallas

21 day challenge: 3/3 today!

the dailies : 10.31.11

daily word: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9

daily sweat: CrossFit! Great way to start the day.

daily dish: I’d say it was the fall oatmeal we talked about earlier this morning…but it was actually the shoo fly pie I ate for lunch this afternoon. For real.

daily miles:

Day 54: crap

Day 55: the curse

(Totally forgot about the guy with the bird stuffed into his shirt. That detail was lost among the more colorful memories of the day.)

Day 56: beauty is a many splendored thing

beka stays creative : unconventionally inspired

So this is the spot where a new inspired post would usually live…but due to circumstances that are completely under my control…I’m just choosing not to post a new list today! Mainly, because it’s slim pickings on the inspiration front this week. Not because it was a bad week, because it wasn’t, it was just a tad on the busier side of busy, which left little room for browsing the interwebs. I mean, I’m inordinately inspired by shoo fly pie (for those of you with roots outside of Pennsylvania, definition and recipe here) since my mom made one for me and brought it out during their visit this weekend, but that doesn’t really seem like the beginning of a valid list. Other invalid things I am inspired by: my new desk, which means my laptop has a home that is not the floor and my living room is actually starting to look lived-in; the Packers having a bye week so I can have a game-stress-free Sunday supplemented by lots of other great games (way to go, Buffalo!); outrageously beautiful leaves which I strung together with a needle and thread and hung across my bedroom window; and did I mention shoo fly pie? That too.

That’s all she wrote, folks.

(But I’m sure I’ll also be inspired by CrossFit in the morning since I now have 10 lbs of pie to work off.)
